The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced GSE Technician to join a busy airside engineering team at Stansted Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced airport environment, maintaining and repairing a wide range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) critical to daily flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of GSE including:
  • Baggage handling equipment
  • Tow tractors
  • Ground power units
  • Air conditioning units
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with safety and compliance standards
  • Respond to breakdowns and urgent repair requests on the airfield
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • What We're Looking For

    • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering / Vehicle Maintenance
    • Proven experience working on:
    • GSE, HGVs, plant, or heavy vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Hydraulics
    • Diesel engines
    • Electrical systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
  • Full UK driving licence (C1 or HGV beneficial but not essential)
  • Shift Pattern

    • Rotating shifts (early / late)
    • Weekend work on a rota basis
    • Overtime available
