We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a fast-paced technology team working across data, analytics and emerging AI solutions. This is a 12-month day rate contract, offering the opportunity to work on scalable data solutions while getting exposure to modern cloud and AI technologies.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and develop reliable data pipelines for large and complex datasets
- Build solutions to extract, transform and process data from a range of internal and external sources
- Develop scalable applications and data processing solutions using Python
- Work with cloud-based technologies, particularly AWS, to support data and analytics workloads
- Help take ideas from initial concepts and prototypes through to production
- Work closely with developers, data specialists and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions
- Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes and data workflows
- Support production environments and participate in an on-call rotation where required
Your Experience
- 6+ years’ experience in software, data engineering or enterprise development
- Strong commercial experience with Python, with Java or C# also considered
- Solid understanding of relational databases and experience working with technologies such as Oracle, Snowflake or similar
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL and working with large datasets
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud environments
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming and core data structures
- Experience working with tools such as Pandas and NumPy would be beneficial
- Comfortable working with REST APIs, scripting and Linux/Windows environments
- Experience with CI/CD, cloud migration or scalable data processing would be advantageous
- A practical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to take ownership and deliver in a fast-moving environment
