We are supporting a large public sector organisation with recruiting Vehicle Technicians to join their established fleet maintenance team across multiple workshop locations in Surrey and Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technician who wants job stability, structured working hours, and work that has real purpose and community impact without the commercial pressure of main dealer environments.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out servicing, repairs and routine maintenance across a varied fleet (cars / vans / specialist vehicles).
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Complete repair work to a high safety and quality standard.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate job and parts records on the workshop system.
- Work closely with the workshop team to ensure fleet availability and minimal downtime.
- Opportunity to fit and maintain specialist equipment (training provided).
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Good mechanical and electrical understanding.
- Ability to work to high safety and quality standards.
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Experience working with fleet / emergency services vehicles.
- EV or hybrid qualifications.
- Auto-electrical fitting experience.
