We are currently recruiting for an experienced Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join a busy workshop based at Gatwick Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation supporting the maintenance and reliability of critical airport ground support equipment.
Working within a professional engineering team, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing and maintaining a wide variety of GSE to ensure maximum equipment availability and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of Ground Support Equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
- Complete reactive breakdown repairs both in the workshop and airside where required.
- Conduct inspections, servicing and safety checks in line with manufacturer recommendations.
- Accurately complete job sheets, maintenance records and inspection documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Support equipment commissioning and testing following repairs.
- Work collaboratively with operations teams to minimise equipment downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation, airport regulations and company procedures.

Candidate Requirements
We're looking for candidates with experience maintaining heavy vehicles, plant machinery, commercial vehicles or Ground Support Equipment.
- Previous experience as a GSE Technician, HGV Technician, Plant Fitter, PSV Technician, Agricultural Engineer or similar mechanical engineering role.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work shifts and participate in an on-call rota where required.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Plant Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering.
- Airside driving permit (or willingness to obtain one).
- Previous airport or aviation engineering experience.
- LOLER, IPAF or forklift qualifications.
- HGV licence.
