We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated GSE Technician to join a leading airport ground operations team based at Gatwick Airport.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection, and repair of a diverse fleet of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used to support aircraft operations.

Working within a fast-paced airport environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational at all times.

This opportunity would suit candidates from HGV, plant, agricultural, commercial vehicle, military, or heavy engineering backgrounds who are looking to develop their careers within the aviation sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, and repairs on Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise operational downtime
  • Accurately record maintenance activities and inspection findings using fleet management systems
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company and airport safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop
  • Provide occasional out-of-hours support when operationally required

About You

We are looking for individuals who combine strong technical ability with a proactive and positive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
  • Minimum one year's post-apprenticeship experience
  • Experience working on HGVs, plant machinery, commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment, or similar
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance, including a DBS check

  • Previous experience working on Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
