Job Description:
Blue Arrow are recruiting for Warehouse Operatives / FLT Drivers for our client based in Heywood.
Job purpose:
To carry out the day to day operation of the warehouse department including, but not limited to, receiving, storing, and distributing material, equipment, and products. May perform any or all of these duties as directed.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas, advising supervisor of unusual discrepancies in
materials received.
* Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to
predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code, while
maintaining aisle space and keeping area clean.
* Undertakes various warehouse routines to include; assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets; packaging pallets according to
customer specific requirements; recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
* Completes all paperwork to include, picking lists and pallet sheets.
* For incoming goods in e.g. raw materials, ensure the correct labels are created
and placed on the goods before storage in the racking.
* Check incoming goods against delivery notes, make any corrections as required. Sign document then pass to Warehouse Supervisor/Manager
* For outgoing products, ensure pallets are marked with identifying information.
Create, print and place address labels on all products. Ensure all products are
packaged fit for purpose and transport.
*SAP Duties include:
β Creating Labels for Products and Shipping Labels
β Checking Stock
β Consolidating Stock
* As required, drives vehicle, following all health and safety regulations, to
transport stored items to and from warehouse to other areas of the plant.
* Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies supervisor or
manager if any defects or faults arise which require repair. Conduct daily truck
maintenance checklist and pre-trip inspections.
* Liaise with the Supervisor/Shipping Clerk to work out the shipping and pick-up schedule or to review schedule.
* Work area and environment will be maintained to a high standard and to Best Practices
* Ensure as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all employees within the department and adhere to all the Environmental, Health and Safety protocols as required by legislation
* Must be committed to a high standard of Environment, Health & Safety practices and be willing and able to comply with all EHS laws and all of the employerβs EHS policies and rules and must be willing to report EHS violations and potential EHS violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel. This may include participation in company EHS programs such as safety committees.
* Is responsible for adherence to the INX Employee Handbook and INXβs Standards of Conduct.
* It is the responsibility of all INX International employees to adhere to the guidelines established in the INX Quality Management System. These guidelines are based on the ISO Standards for environment and quality
* To actively participate in the review and improvement of the EHS management system. Including evaluating the effectiveness of the system, by site visit, inspection, audit and review. Addressing non-conformities, making necessary adjustments to systems to ensure ongoing compliance. Take an active part in any incident that has resulted, or had the potential to cause, a lost time accident.
Qualifications:
Licenses for any of the following trucks would be desirable; VNA, Articulated Forklift (Pivot Steer) Trucks, Counter Balances and Powered Pallet Truck (PPT)
Working conditions:
Able to lift up to 25kg be able to use hand truck to move drums and containers of ink. Frequent work near moving mechanical parts; may work near fumes or airborne particles; will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Will be required to work at heights up to and including 8 meters. Will be required to work shifts which may occasionally include a night shift as required.
