The Recruitment Co are recruiting for 2 Production Supervisors for a manufacturing company based in Astley.
The hours would be set as follows:
- Permanent AM shift role - 5am - 3pm Monday to Thursday - Salary up to £40k per annum
- Permanent PM shift role - 3pm - 1am Monday to Thursday - Salary up to £40k plus a shift allowance of £20 per shift = £44,160 per annum
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and capable Production Supervisor to lead the shift team in a high-paced MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) manufacturing environment. Responsible for supervising 15-20 employees across up to 4 production lines, the successful candidate will ensure efficient output, uphold safety and quality standards, and drive performance through effective leadership and process optimisation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrable experience in a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, or Line Leader role within MDF, timber, wood-based panels, or broader manufacturing
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team in a fast-paced production setting
- Solid understanding of health & safety, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles
- Excellent communicator with the ability to manage priorities under pressure
- IT literate - confident using Excel, digital reporting tools, and ERP systems
- Flexible, reliable, and focused on driving continuous improvement
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or similar field (or equivalent experience).
- Level 4 or higher qualification in leadership.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent.
Skills / experience:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Good working knowledge of production processes, safety regulations, and quality systems.
- Ability to analyse production data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP or MES software).
- Lean Six Sigma / 5S knowledge or certification is advantageous.
