We are currently recruiting a Production Horticulture Farm Worker for our client based at Greenmount Campus, Antrim. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI are completed.
Start date: ASAP
Rate of pay: £13.75PH
Duration: 20/03/2027
Hours of work: 37
Key Responsibilities:
- Duties within the Horticulture Centres, within Greenmount Campus, College of Agriculture Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE / DAERA).
- Tasks associated with horticultural crop production and management practices such as propagation, potting, feeding, harvesting and preparing for sale.
- Tasks associated with the setting up, maintenance, operation and harvesting of multiple indoor hydroponic systems.
- Contribution to the conduction of horticultural crop trial assessments (scoring of plant growth and development) and report to their line manager with crop management practices as described above.
- Supporting the line manager in the preparation for students’ practical work such as preparation of tools and plant materials.
Essential Criteria applicants must have:
- A Level 2 (Diploma) or equivalent or higher qualification in Horticulture.
- Experience of production horticulture.
- GCSE/ Essential Skills in English and Maths.
Desirable but not essential:
- A level 3 or equivalent or higher qualification in Horticulture.
- Experience and knowledge of working with either Hardy Nursery Stock Production or hydroponic and vertical farming systems is an advantage.
