Location: Portadown (moving to Lurgan from June 2026)

Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour | £17.22 per hour (Saturday rate)

Overview

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Band 3 Central Registration & Booking Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a busy healthcare environment, supporting patient booking and registration services.

Hours of Work (Shift Pattern)

  • Weeks 1–4 (Monday to Friday): 4 days: 08:00 – 16:00, 1 day: 10:00 – 18:00
  • Week 5 (Monday to Saturday): 3 days: 08:00 – 16:00, 1 day: 10:00 – 18:00, 1 day: 08:00 – 11:30, Saturday: 09:00 – 13:00

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage patient bookings, including contacting patients and processing appointments
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution
  • Process correspondence and maintain accurate administrative records
  • Prioritise workload and meet deadlines in line with service standards
  • Respond to routine queries and escalate where necessary
  • Maintain accurate manual and computerised systems
  • Develop and manage filing systems as required
  • Build effective working relationships with staff and the public
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support as needed

Essential Criteria

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4 GCSEs (Grades A–C), including English Language, AND at least 1 year’s administrative/clerical experience OR Minimum of 2 years’ administrative/clerical experience

Skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Word or equivalent systems
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
