Blue Arrow is recruiting for Outdoor Campus Cleaning Operatives to work at a prestigious university in Manchester City Centre.
Hours of work are from 7am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute break at 12pm, totaling 35 hours per week.
Pay rate is Β£12.66 per hour.
Main responsibilities include:
- Litter picking
- Emptying external waste and recycling bins
- Cleaning and sweeping the main campus externally
- Collecting and disposing of syringes and drug paraphernalia
- Removing biological waste deposits
- Collecting redundant furniture and electrical equipment (including WEEE, fridges, freezers)
- Collecting bulky items such as wood, pallets, packaging
- Recycling metals, glass, paper, magazines, polystyrene
- Cleaning bin stores and bike sheds, including removing abandoned bikes and locks
- Grit spreading and snow clearance in collaboration with Landscape Services
Candidates should ideally have a clean driving license and previous cleaning or grounds maintenance experience. Road sweeping experience is a plus but not essential.
Applicants must be comfortable working outdoors, performing tasks like litter picking and bin emptying.
This is long-term work with potential for a permanent position.
