We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our client, based in Strangford as a Ferry Purser. Our client is Northern Ireland's Leading Public Sector Employer. Successful candidates will start once vetting has been completed.
Pay Rate: £15.30 basic, £17.93 unsocial, £24.65 Sat, £26.90 Sun
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 37 hours on a week shift rota (6-week shift pattern of two lates, followed by two early then 2 days off)
Early Shift:
- Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:15
- Saturday 07:30 - 15:45
- Sunday 07:25 - 15:15
Late Shift:
- Monday to Friday 14:50 - 23:30
- Saturday 15:20 - Midnight
- Sunday 14:50 - 23:30
Main Responsibilities:
- Ticket sales - This involves the sale of tickets, ensuring the safety of colleagues and the public and assisting with the loading, de-berthing, mooring and passenger control when required.
- Deck Supervision - Supervising the deck as required when the Shift Manager and Skipper are on other duties or on leave or when two Ferries are running.
Essential Criteria:
- 2 GCSE/GCE passes (at A, B or C) with Maths and English. Proof will be required at the first stage of registration. Without this we cannot take your application forward.
- At least 6 months experience working in a customer facing role, dealing with cash and/or card transactions.
- Relevant experience of working with or on, either seagoing or inland waterway, commercial craft (this could include any or all of the following: passenger, cargo/freight, fishing, workboats or pilot vessels either sailing or motorised vessels).
- Candidate must pass a ML5 Seafarers Medical prior to confirmation of the posting.
