We are currently recruiting an experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist for an immediate start in Whiteabbey. This is a temporary opportunity within a well‑established Physiotherapy Department.

Role Overview: The post holder will be an integral member of the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Team, providing highly skilled assessment and treatment to patients presenting with a wide range of complex and multi‑pathological conditions. You will work autonomously while liaising closely with the wider multi‑disciplinary team, including participation in the on‑call rota and out‑of‑hours service. Flexibility is required to meet service needs. The role also includes management responsibility for junior and support staff within the service area. The Physiotherapy Service is committed to continuous service improvement and modernisation, and this post may become rotational across linked specialities or localities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own caseload, ensuring an effective, evidence‑based service aligned with national guidelines and professional standards
  • Undertake advanced assessment to develop personalised management and treatment plans in collaboration with patients and carers
  • Deliver specialised treatment using evidence‑based practice to set agreed goals
  • Act as a clinical resource, providing advice and guidance on non‑routine cases
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and professionals, including education and staff training
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to support rehabilitation and safe handling practices
  • Demonstrate high‑level clinical expertise with strong prioritisation and time management
  • Work within legal frameworks to assess capacity and obtain informed consent
  • Contribute to service development and new initiatives within MSK services
  • Support clinical governance and risk management processes
  • Assess, manage, and ensure the safe use of equipment
  • Participate in supervision, staff development, and performance review processes

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ post‑registration experience, including 12 months in Musculoskeletal Outpatients
  • Qualifications / Registration: Degree in Physiotherapy, Registered with the Health Professions Council (HCPC), Evidence of relevant post‑qualification CPD and training
  • Other Requirements: Full UK driving licence and access to a car (reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with Trust policy)
