Pay Rates:
- Monday – Friday: £12.75 per hour
- Saturday: £17.22 per hour
- Sunday: £21.55 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our catering team within a busy hospital setting in Newry. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to patient care by preparing high-quality, nutritious meals in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals in line with dietary requirements and hospital standards
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to a high standard
- Follow strict food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and work areas
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Ensure compliance with food safety legislation (HACCP)
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and catering staff
- Support the delivery of meals to wards where required
- Adapt menus for special dietary needs (e.g. allergens, soft diets)
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience as a Cook is essential
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Flexibility to work a rota that includes weekends and varied shifts
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
