We are currently seeking a temporary, ongoing part-time Library Assistant for our public sector client based in Lurgan Library. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a community-focused environment.
Working Pattern
- Week 1
- Monday: No hours
- Tuesday: 10:00 - 16:00
- Wednesday: No hours
- Thursday: 9:30 - 17:30
- Friday: No hours
- Saturday: 9:30 - 17:00
- Week 2
- Monday: No hours
- Tuesday: 11:30 - 18:00
- Wednesday: 13:30 - 17:30
- Thursday: 9:30 - 17:30
- Friday: 9:30 - 17:30
- Saturday: 9:30 - 17:00
Rate of Pay: £13.63 per hour & Saturday rate £20.45 per hour
Duties Include:
- Handling client queries using print and electronic resources
- Registering clients and explaining library services
- Enforcing library rules and regulations
- Delivering services that support learning, leisure, and cultural needs of the local community
- Conducting rhythm & rhyme & storyboard with primary school children
Essential Criteria:
- 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths (Grade C or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a face-to-face public service role
- Experience working with young children and elderly people
- Proficient in using ICT to access and manage information
- Must hold an Enhanced AccessNI clearance (Child's Barring List)
- Experience working in a team environment
