We are currently seeking a part-time temporary ongoing part-time Library assistant for our Client based in Ballyclare Library . This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a public sector body. STARTING ASAP, Working on a 2 week rota basis
Hours of work:
Week 1: Monday 9.15- 5, Tuesday 12.15-6.00, Thursday 12.15-5.30,
Week 2: Tuesday 12.15-6, Friday 9.15-5.30, Saturday 9.15-1
Rate of pay is £13.21 per hour. Saturday pay rate £19.82 per hour
Duties include:
· Handling client queries using print & electronic resources
· Registering clients
· Introducing and explaining library services, rules and regulations
· Provide all library services to meet the learning , information, leisure and cultural needs of the local community.
Assist with the routine delivery of the programme of promotional activities to include school class visits, story time, user education events, special initiatives etc.
Essential Criteria:
· Must have 5 GCSE\’s including English language and Maths grade C or equivalent
· 1 years experience providing face to face service with the public.
· Experience working with young children and elderly people
· Experience using ICT for accessing, selecting and using information
