This is a casual role, ideal for experienced swimming teachers looking to work sessions on an as-and-when-required basis. The successful candidates will play a key role in enabling individuals of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, confidence, and healthy activity habits within a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver swimming classes/lessons
- Provide inclusive swimming opportunities for all sections of the community
- Work closely with Duty Officers to support successful session delivery
- Identify and respond to the needs of individual swimmers and groups
- Assist in ensuring equitable access to swimming programmes
- Support monitoring of programme impact on health and wellbeing
- Assist in developing links with schools, clubs and community groups (as required)
- Ensure safe and effective operation of sessions, including equipment set-up
- Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, council policies, and procedures
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, accountability, and customer care
Hours of Work:
- Casual, agency-based hours
- Work will be offered as and when required
- Availability required for evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on service needs
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a recognised Swimming Teacher qualification (Level 2 – ASA / STA / Swim Ireland)
- Minimum 1 year’s swimming teaching experience
- Hold a full current UK driving licence and have access to suitable transport OR have access to transport that enables full duties to be carried out (reasonable adjustments considered for applicants with a declared disability)
