This is a casual role, ideal for experienced swimming teachers looking to work sessions on an as-and-when-required basis. The successful candidates will play a key role in enabling individuals of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, confidence, and healthy activity habits within a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver swimming classes/lessons
  • Provide inclusive swimming opportunities for all sections of the community
  • Work closely with Duty Officers to support successful session delivery
  • Identify and respond to the needs of individual swimmers and groups
  • Assist in ensuring equitable access to swimming programmes
  • Support monitoring of programme impact on health and wellbeing
  • Assist in developing links with schools, clubs and community groups (as required)
  • Ensure safe and effective operation of sessions, including equipment set-up
  • Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, council policies, and procedures
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, accountability, and customer care

Hours of Work:

  • Casual, agency-based hours
  • Work will be offered as and when required
  • Availability required for evenings, weekends, and public holidays, depending on service needs

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a recognised Swimming Teacher qualification (Level 2 – ASA / STA / Swim Ireland)
  • Minimum 1 year’s swimming teaching experience
  • Hold a full current UK driving licence and have access to suitable transport OR have access to transport that enables full duties to be carried out (reasonable adjustments considered for applicants with a declared disability)
