Household Recycling Attendant
Location: Larne Redlands HRC
Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour
Hours: 19.5 hours per week
Contract: Temporary (Initial 3-Month Assignment)
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Household Recycling Attendant to join their team in Larne.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable and customer-focused individual to support the day-to-day operation of a busy Household Recycling Centre. The successful candidate will assist members of the public with waste disposal and recycling, maintain a safe and tidy site, and contribute to the effective delivery of environmental services.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate may be required to work additional hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays, in line with service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist members of the public with the correct disposal and recycling of waste materials.
- Promote recycling and support the segregation of materials for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Monitor site usage and ensure compliance with site rules and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the site, buildings and surrounding areas.
- Manage traffic flow and direct vehicles safely within the recycling centre.
- Monitor container levels and arrange replacements when required.
- Complete operational records and associated documentation accurately.
- Support contractors and visitors working on site.
- Assist with public awareness activities and recycling initiatives.
- Ensure the safe handling and storage of hazardous waste in accordance with relevant procedures.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the following on their CV:
- A minimum of one year's experience working within a waste operations environment.
- A minimum of one year's experience working as part of a team.
- A minimum of one year's customer service experience , including handling public enquiries, complaints and queries.
