Job Title: Fork Lift Truck Driver/Yard Operative
Location: Pontypool
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Hours: Full time. Monday – Friday (07:00 – 15:30)
We are currently recruiting a Fork Lift Truck driver (Counterbalance) for a well established client to join a company based in Pontypool. This role is paying £11.25 per hour and is working 7:00am to 3:30pm – 13.00-23.00pm Monday to Friday on a rotational basis this role is Temp to Perm.
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Cut or Bond Team Leader you will be primarily working in the factory and yard responsible for feeding bricks and component parts to multiple production lines in a safe and timely manner. The role will also provide cover to the yard and other departments to meet production
demands.
The Position
- Hold a current counterbalance and telehandler forklift truck licence
- Carry out daily safety checks of mechanical equipment
- Respond to busy production teams in order to meet daily production targets
- Ensure bricks are labelled and picked correctly
- Maintain safe and clean working area
- Wear correct and appropriate PPE for the department
The Person
- Experience of working in a busy production environment
- Counter Balance Fork Lift Truck License
- Desirable Telehandler License
- Resilient to working in a noisy brick cutting department
- Resilient to working in wet and cold conditions
- Reliable with an excellent attendance record
- Able to work with little supervision following initial training and induction
