Location: Antrim

Rate of Pay: £14.31 per hour

Shift Pattern: Continental shifts (2-week rotation)

Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm

Nights: 6:00pm – 6:00am

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer within the building materials sector, is seeking an Extrusion Operative to join their production team. Operating in a modern, machine-driven environment, you will play a key role in producing high-quality uPVC products used in window and door systems for both bespoke and high-volume projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machinery in line with production schedules
  • Ensure all products meet required quality specifications and report defects where necessary
  • Perform routine quality checks and accurately complete production documentation
  • Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency
  • Assist with tool changes, machine start-ups, and shutdowns
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
  • Ensure correct handling and loading of raw materials
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Support basic maintenance tasks and assist with troubleshooting faults

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work shift patterns

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience operating extrusion machinery (ideally within uPVC manufacturing)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience with machinery troubleshooting
