Our client is looking for 2X Food Technology Technicians in Cookstown.
Pay Rate: £17.43 per hour
Hours: 9 to 5 Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 4 October 2026
Location: CAFRE Loughry Campus, Cookstown, Co Tyrone
Job Duties:
- Effective management, maintenance, and operation of a range of food processing equipment and building services
- Instruction, supervision and assessment of individuals and groups in the use of food processing equipment and systems
- Provision of agreed technical support and training to commercial food businesses
- Effective management, monitoring, recording, and assisting with the development of quality and operational systems, procedures, and instrumentation
- Effective operation and maintenance of storage facilities and associated stock control systems
- Driving college vehicles within the campus
- Carrying out any other relevant duties in line with the business needs of Food Technology Development Branch/CAFRE/DAERA
Essential Criteria:
- At least a Level 3 qualification e.g., National Diploma / National Certificate in Food Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- At least 1 year relevant post-qualification experience of operating or maintaining processing equipment in a food manufacturing or related environment
- A full current driving license enabling the license holder to drive in Northern Ireland
Applications will also be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications considered by the selection panel to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated. Relevant or equivalent qualifications: give the type of qualification and date awarded (the date awarded is the date on which you were notified of your result by the official awarding body). If you believe your qualification is equivalent to the one required, the onus is on you to provide the panel with details of modules studied etc so that a well-informed decision can be made.
