Our client, a large public sector organisation based in Stormont, is looking for a Staff Officer to join their team.

Duration: March **** with possible extension

Rate of pay: £*****

Location: Stormont (Full-time office based)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Start date: ASAP

Main Duties:

  • The Project and Programme Manager will support the Deputy Principal (DP) in providing high-level operational support to the Head of the Civil Service (HOCS) in delivering the UK Honours system in NI.
  • The Project and Programme Manager will be responsible for Project Managing the Honour Process in Northern Ireland.
  • Manage the operational delivery of the NI Honours process.
  • Engage with senior officials, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage all correspondence ensuring information is handled professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure records are managed and processed accordingly.
  • Support the Deputy Principal with communications; drafting correspondence; briefings; responses to Assembly Questions; drafting submissions; Finance returns; Freedom of Information requests relevant to the Head of Civil Service Office; provide advice and recommendations.
  • Lead, motivate, support and develop staff.
  • When required, support other work of the Head of Civil Service office.

Essential Criteria:

  • 5 GCSEs A-C (Must include Maths and English)
  • Degree
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Staff management experience
  • Strong personal drive and motivation with ability to deliver on objectives and at pace meeting deadlines
  • Collaborative working
  • Strong leadership capabilities supporting the team and line manager.
  • Effective decision making
  • Analysis of information
