A temporary position has arisen for a Staff Officer - Retained Finance Function based at Newforge. This role plays a key part in delivering core finance operations, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities, supporting reporting requirements, and overseeing junior staff performance. The successful candidate will bring strong finance experience, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Accounts Receivable duties, with Accounts Payable cover as required
- Manage junior managers and administrative staff, including attendance and performance
- Carry out daily banking duties, including downloading banking receipts and providing posting information
- Manage customer remittances
- Oversee the sales invoice process, including liaising with internal and external customers and preparing currency invoices
- Support debt management activities
- Respond to customer and supplier queries via email and telephone
- Complete month-end reporting, including report production, sales ledger reconciliation, and suspense account management
- Assist branches with queries relating to AR and AP processes
- Manage held supplier invoice notifications to release invoices for payment
- Produce high-level reports for senior management
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working within a finance team
- At least 2 years' experience managing an Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable function
- Proven experience of managing a team to deliver outcomes against competing priorities
- Demonstrable experience using computerised accounting systems, including MS Excel
