About the Role
We are delighted to be recruiting, on behalf of the Agri‑Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI), for an experienced Information and Governance Officer to join the Governance & Performance Branch within the FCAD Division. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to contribute to AFBI’s information governance, records management, and compliance functions, supporting a high‑performing public sector organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act and other information access legislation.
- Supporting the development, review, and implementation of information governance policies, procedures, and guidance materials.
- Contributing to records management activities and ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities.
- Using electronic records management systems (e.g., Content Manager) to maintain accurate and secure information.
- Providing clear, confident, and persuasive communication—both written and verbal—to senior stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate the following by the closing date:
- Qualifications (one of the following): Level 5 qualification (Foundation Degree or equivalent/higher) AND at least 1 year’s administrative experience OR Level 4 qualification (HNC or equivalent/higher) AND at least 2 years’ administrative experience.
- Proficient use of MS Office applications: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience communicating professionally and confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
- Experience using electronic records management systems, ideally Content Manager.
