We are currently recruiting for a Business Consultant based in Ballymena. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork, ANI clearance has been completed.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 Months

Rate of pay: £19.59

Hours of work: Mon-Fri 9-5

Location: Ballymena, however, working location is flexible with Rural Affairs staff headquartered at other locations. The application of the hybrid working policy will be considered. Travel to other locations in NI will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the development of an evidence-based rural policy for Northern Ireland.
  • To analyse evidence and research to make informed policy.
  • To assist in the development and delivery of a consultation on future rural policy proposals.
  • Engaging with policy makers across government, including other jurisdictions and rural stakeholders.

Essential Criteria applicants must have:

  • Policy Development – experience of developing policy alongside good written and analytical skills.
  • Project management – experience of liaising with different departments/ delivery leads to ensure work is delivered on time to a high standard.
  • Proof of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths grade C or above or the equivalent to this and 2 A levels or equivalent with a minimum of 12/18 months’ experience.
  • Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to use own initiative.
