Position: Admin Officer
AO Pay Rate: £12.97 per hour
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Newcastle Jobs and Benefits Office

Hours of Work: 9 to 5 Monday to Friday
Job Duties:
As part of the First Contact Team, the person will work as part of a multifunctional administrative team providing both back of office and front office support in a local Jobs and Benefit Office. They will be the first point of contact for UC claimants, assisting claimants who need to conduct their business face-to-face or via telephone.
The role is customer-facing and involves handling queries on the phone and at a public counter. Duties include claimant orientation, resolving queries, arranging appointments, conducting interviews, assisting customers in the Digi Zone, inputting new data, and updating change of circumstances. Additional duties include post handling, phone queries, reception cover, and other reasonable duties as required by line management.
Please note the requirement to attend a 13-day mandatory training course with no leave permitted during this period. At least one day of training will involve travel to another location.
Requirements include having 5 GCSEs including Maths & English (certificates must be shown). The successful applicant will be required to complete an Access NI check during registration.
