We are currently recruiting for a Jobsheet Technician to join our client’s busy Testing Department based in Leigh. This is a key role responsible for ensuring all tasks assigned by the Jobsheet Supervisor are completed efficiently and accurately. You will play an important part in coordinating testing requirements, validating client data, and supporting the delivery of high-quality service to customers. The role involves regular communication with clients and internal teams, as well as the use of internal systems to generate worksheets and manage testing requirements.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Job Type: temp to perm
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work complies with customer requirements and company procedures
- Work in line with accreditation standards, ensuring accuracy in all tasks and advice provided
- Provide feedback to the Team Leader regarding workload, resources, and client issues
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues
- Provide general advice and support to both clients and internal teams
- Use the LIMS system to select appropriate tests and produce worksheets/jobsheets
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation
- Carry out additional duties in line with business needs
Specific Duties:
- Manage outbound and return client correspondence via telephone and email
- Handle technical customer queries in a timely and professional manner
- Validate client-submitted data and samples against accredited and/or retailer requirements (routine and non-routine)
- Provide guidance to clients regarding technical reports and requirements
- Support queries relating to retailer specifications and technical testing
- Select appropriate tests, perform final checks, and issue reports based on client information
- Work with samples requiring advanced interpretation (e.g. nursery products, MOD specifications)
- Utilise LIMS system at an advanced level to manage workflows and documentation
- Participate in project work and support departmental initiatives
- Perform collating functions as required
Key Relationships:
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure efficient workflow and service delivery
- Build strong relationships with clients to support effective communication and issue resolution
- Operate both independently and within a team environment
Skills & Experience Required:
- Good general education, particularly in Science, English, and Mathematics
- Strong IT skills, including experience with LIMS systems, MS Word, and Excel
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to interpret technical information and specifications
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within a testing laboratory or technical environment
- Knowledge of consumer product testing methods and standards
- Experience handling technical customer queries
