Assistant Management Accountant (Part-Qualified) Location: Alfreton, UK Salary: £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Construction About the Role: We are recruiting for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join a reputable construction company based in Alfreton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to further their career within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: • Purchase Ledger Management: Accurately process supplier invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain records. • Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash flow and transactions. • Control Account Reconciliations: Manage and reconcile key control accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly. • Month-End Management Accounts Preparation: Draft month-end management accounts from the trial balance (using Sage 50), ensuring accuracy and completeness. • VAT and PAYE Submissions: Prepare and submit VAT returns and PAYE information in compliance with statutory requirements. • Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. • Process Improvements: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications and Experience: • Part-qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). • Strong knowledge of Sage 50 and experience with trial balance preparation. • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction sector. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Knowledge of VAT and PAYE processes and submissions. • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. • Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
