Semi-Senior Accountant

LAB. are partnering with a forward-thinking accountancy practice undergoing strong growth. They are known for their hands‑on approach, real client relationships, and a team culture built on support, accountability, and progression. They are now looking to bring in a Semi‑Senior Accountant who is confident working with their own portfolio, client‑facing, and ready to keep developing professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Team Leader with management of client\’s accounts.
• Preparation of accounts, VAT returns, bookkeeping and any other duties needed to provide a client service.
• Proactively market and support the growth of the Company.
• Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all clients, internal staff and other parties.
• Actively work as part of the Company team.
• Undertake administration and support duties as necessary.
• Build strong relationships with clients, offering guidance and helping them understand their financial performance.
• Work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to process improvements and best practice.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 2‑3 years\’ experience in a UK practice environment.
• Part‑qualified AAT/ACCA/ACA OR qualified by experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and tax processes.
• Confident using cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills — able to explain numbers in a human, relatable way.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ambitious, proactive, and comfortable managing client expectations.
