Hybrid role: work remotely from home and the Windsor office, and conduct site visits across England and Wales.

Overview

You will be conducting site visits to potential borrowers at their place of business to assess if we are proceeding to a lending decision. You will be assessing director behaviour, business sector and collating any further documentation required to determine your final lending decision. You will be looking at the risks involved with the business and put these factors towards the lending decision. The information gathered at the underwriting stage will support you to conduct the visit. You will present the site visit findings to the Loan Sales Manager along with your business decision on whether to approve the lending decision. You will build a business relationship with the director(s) met during site visits to enable solid communication, confirming, re-arranging and ensuring all necessary documents are prepared. A strong understanding of commercial lending, risk assessment and financial analysis is required. Absolute professionalism whilst representing the company is essential. Strong time management is vital for this role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the underwriting team by underwriting cases when you are not out on the road.
  • Maintain understanding of and compliance with all relevant lending regulations, including those from financial regulatory bodies and internal lending policies.
  • Upon completion of the site visit, conduct a post-visit meeting with the Loan Sales Manager, raising any red flags or concerns about the business.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness and risks of loan applicants by analysing financial data, including income, financial statements, and collateral.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to questions and concerns from loan applicants, explaining the loan application process, and communicating decisions effectively.
  • Keep yourself updated on loan products, underwriting standards, and collections procedures.
  • Ensure all documentation and ID verification checks are prepared and completed to a satisfactory standard before submitting the case to the lending department.
  • Operate proficiency with CRM systems and keep accurate notes and documentation.
  • Know your customers and build strong relationships.

  • Own car available for driving to customers (monthly car allowance).
  • Confident, friendly, and professional manner when representing the company on site.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of loan compliance and regulatory standards.
