Who We Are Looking For
As a Bar & Billiards Room Server, you bring the magic to The Read House guest experience and will provide the same experience as any fine-dining establishment by providing a positive and friendly experience and fulfilling guest requests in a timely manner.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Take food and beverage orders by serving guests at the lobby of the hotel, lounge, and Bar and Billiard’s Room
- Maintain clear knowledge about BBR well-spirits, house wines, liquor list, beer list and food menu
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system to send to the kitchen and bar, indicating special requests and dietary restrictions
- Collect payment from guests, issue receipts and change; secure a valid method of payment for any tab; abide by all cash handling procedures
- Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding food handling and the sales and service of alcoholic beverages
- Ensure all tables, chairs and other furniture items are clean and ready to receive guests
- Complete opening and closing duties without affecting the guest experience
- Assist bartenders by organizing and cleaning the bar area when it is needed
- Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
Job Requirements
Education/ Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least one year of fine dining experience preferred
- TABC Server Permit required within 60 days of hire
Skills
- Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management
- Proficiency in restaurant POS and inventory applications
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, sometimes more than 8 hours
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with changing variables
- Ability to perform well under pressure to meet the needs of guests, team members and/ or management

- The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc.
