Lighthouse Hotel Management are currently looking for a Reservations Manager to join our team at The Halyard Rope Walks, and Holiday Inn Express Central, Liverpool. Our Reservations Team is appointed to respond to all room reservation requests with the aim of converting each request into a confirmed booking using the selling strategy set by the hotel. The Reservations Manager is responsible for managing the reservations process and operation in the property, by coaching and motivating the team to deliver quality guest service and meet financial targets for the property. This role offers a schedule of 40 hours spread over 5 working days and plays an integral part in maximizing the hotels’ profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To manage the day-to-day operation of the Reservations department – ensuring that all systems and procedures identified in the reservations audit are completed.
  2. To ensure that the department provides a high level of customer service and meets the brand standard for all reservations.
  3. To display a proactive and innovative approach to skills development and standards enhancement with your team.
  4. Ensure that communication procedures are effective and efficient on a day-to-day basis enabling the operation to plan and deliver all customer service requirements.
  5. To actively develop the team’s awareness of revenue capture, packages, and accounting in order to enhance revenues and protect customer service.
  6. To possess a strong knowledge of the products and ensure that the team shares this understanding, so that flexible and informed selling approaches can be offered.
  7. To target the team on all up-selling opportunities, utilizing incentives as appropriate.
  8. To carry out Duty Management functions when required.
  9. Ensuring recruitment, training, development, and staffing levels are as required, whilst demonstrating a management style that is both ‘hands-on’ and strategic.
  10. To be able to act with initiative, planning for the future and possible consequences. Being proactive in getting things done and exceeding expectations of both guests and colleagues where possible.
  11. To develop interactive customer relations and to be aware of any possible future requirements.
  12. To relay such information and ideas to the General Manager for the enhancement of customer expectation.
  13. To support with initiative and commitment the overall objectives of the business in terms of revenues, costs, and teamwork – whilst developing your personal competency levels.

  1. Fully accountable for team members within the unit in terms of recruitment, performance management, reviews, L&D.
  2. Act as a role model in terms of values, professional ethics, and conduct.
  3. Identify training needs within the team and deliver or source appropriate training.
  4. Communicate throughout the team to ensure all members are aware of current developments within the company.
  5. Display a pro-active and leading role in terms of service, culture, development, team image, systems, procedures, and skills development.
