We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Kitchen Porter at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West. Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West is a 160 bedroom hotel situated on the leafy Heriot-Watt University campus, with a state-of-the-art lobby and 'The Avenue' at the centre of it all. Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West is managed by Lighthouse Hotel Management, which is the operational arm of the Molo Hotel Group.
Responsibilities
- Passion for Excellence: In line with legislation and the hotel's policies and procedures, you will understand, implement and deliver the highest standards of legal compliance regarding food safety, food hygiene and food allergens. Limiting possible cross-contamination and risk to our staff and guests catering to all cuisine needs and wants.
- Collaboration: You will support the kitchen function and the food and beverage team, where your excellent teamwork and joint goal of obtaining maximum customer satisfaction will create an enchanted dining experience for each and every guest.
- Kitchen Representation: Taking satisfaction in creating a clean, hygienic and compliant working environment, you will actively pursue tasks within the kitchen that meet the hotel standards and expectations. You will follow all guidance and seek confirmation where required regarding food handling, preparation and work station expectations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar role may be beneficial but not essential as full on-the-job training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Additional language proficiency is a bonus.
- A drive to work as part of a team to exceed expectations and promote the hotel's brand and services.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as our hotel operates 24/7.
