A DAY IN THE LIFE OF CLUSTER ASSISTANT FINANCIAL CONTROLLER AT LIGHTHOUSE HOTEL MANAGEMENT

What you'll be doing...

We are looking for someone to work alongside the Cluster Financial Controller to develop the overall business strategy and ensure effective control procedures are in place. The successful candidate has excellent analytic and reporting skills and knowledge of financial and operating systems and procedures. As part of this role, you will be responsible for supervision of the finance team, offering support, training, guidance and motivation ensuring operating procedures are in place and being adhered to. This role is based at our Head Office in Glasgow.

In your role, along with the Finance Assistant, you will be doing the following tasks:

  • Income Audit, including daily banking, credit cards & revenue reconciliations.
  • Processing supplier invoices, including Brand affiliate invoice & supplier payment runs.
  • Petty cash reclaims.
  • Control of accounts receivable and recording receipts.
  • Support in the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts and variance analysis for 2 hotels.
  • Control of Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Produce accurate forecasts that enable operations to react to changes in the business in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the annual Budget process.
  • Assist other departments, wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships within the whole hotel.
  • Supporting with internal and external audit requests.
  • Ad-hoc duties as requested by CFC or management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages, excel is essential.

  • Time management skills and being capable of working to tight deadlines.
  • Communication and collaboration skills are a must as you will need to work with various suppliers, team members, and managers.
  • Experience at the Assistant Financial Controller level in a hospitality background.
  • Experience in managing a team and also be able to work independently.
