The Rawlett School is a secondary school led by a dedicated and ambitious Head of School, Beccie (Rebecca) Walker. Having worked for Lift since 2005 she has spent the last 13 years transforming the culture and teaching at The Rawlett, she has now established a strong leadership team and is confident to gain a 'Good' Ofsted on the next inspection. But she still needs ambitious teachers to be part of this incredibly rewarding, yet challenging, journey and this is an opportunity for you to be part of that as we look to recruit a Teacher of Design Technology. Your new role The head of the Design Technology department joined the school in September and is incredibly strong, since joining they have re-written our curriculum and revitalised the department. This is an exciting time to join, teach new courses and continue to re-shape the department. The subject is well-regarded by pupils and they're keen to learn so this is a really exciting opportunity. The school are very fortunate to have strong links with the community and this year we are going to JCB in for a STEM event in the Spring term and we also have a project planned with The Inspirational Learning Co and General Electric later in the year. We believe in giving all teachers the opportunity to be great and will support you both personally and professionally to ensure you reach your full potential. What you'll need to succeed You will be a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with strong subject knowledge in Design Technology, strong classroom management skills and a passion for the subject. You will have a successful track record of improving the education of pupils and know what excellent education looks like in a classroom. Whether you're in your first year of teaching or your tenth, you will be warmly welcomed and supported here.
