As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Inventory Planner to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.
About the Role:
To deliver accurate demand forecasts and effective replenishment by managing forecasting outputs, maintaining system accuracy, and providing actionable insights to support stock availability and promotional activity.
Responsibilities:
- Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Run demand forecasts and place orders in line with generated system outputs and business requirements.
- Monitor daily forecast outputs and system alerts.
- Manage SKU / Order exceptions flagged, liaising with buying teams.
- Review and analyse demand, ensuring forecasts reflect expected demand patterns, including promotional events.
- Review the promotional calendar to ensure all future activity is correctly loaded into systems.
- Liaising with buying on product assortment, forecast exceptions which will impact ordering.
- Identify SKUs where actual sales significantly deviate from forecast, reviewing anomalies to ensure model accuracy and identifying root cause.
- Set system allocations, including reviewing future allocations to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain and create suitable ordering schedules to support stock availability and replenishment efficiency.
- Review promotional allocations at store level to ensure the system is accounting for this, liaising with stock controllers to ensure promotional data is captured within the system.
- Review orders that are not regionalised and take corrective action where required.
Person Specification:
- Experience in demand planning, forecasting, replenishment, or supply chain within a retail or FMCG environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends and anomalies.
- Experience working with forecasting or replenishment systems is desirable.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with BI or analytics tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong commercial awareness combined with confident communication.
