The Railway Inn Churston Ferres is looking for a professional Senior Sous Chef. You will need to be passionate about producing and presenting amazing food. Proactive and passionate, you'll be comfortable leading the kitchen. You'll love producing great food quickly, efficiently, and perfectly presented. You'll be well organised and enjoy motivating your team. Heading up the Kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, you'll be responsible for overseeing compliance, prep and running services. Experience in a fresh food environment is essential, as is a genuine passion for modern food and ingredients.
With strong communication skills, you'll have the experience and ability to problem solve where necessary and the personality to build positive, supportive and professional relationships with team members.
About you:
- A proven track record in quality pub or restaurant at Sous level for a minimum of two years.
- To have a very good working knowledge of local West Country seasonal ingredients.
- Great time management, self-motivating and driven.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Willingness to develop, grow and keep up with the demands of our business.
- To live within a reasonable commute and to have a full driving license.

- Day shift Monday to Friday

- Maximum 45hr week
- Rotation weekends off
As Senior Sous you'll:
- Oversee, organise, and encourage staff, helping to develop their skills
- Be accountable for running the line during service
- Be passionate about maintaining the highest standards of food and service
- Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, covering their duties when they are off
