A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, creative, and curious thinker who understands the power of artistic expression. We are seeking a dedicated atelierista to join our team at Rabbit Patch Preschools.

As an atelierista, you will play a central role in shaping a rich and creative learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and express their thinking in multiple ways. Working within a collaborative teaching team, you will support a curriculum that values inquiry-based learning and honours each child’s unique perspective. You will act as both a guide and co-learner — observing children closely, responding to their interests, and extending their ideas through thoughtful provocations and the introduction of diverse materials. The atelier will be a dynamic and evolving space under your care, designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and deep engagement.

At Rabbit Patch, we value art as a language for thinking, communicating, and understanding the world. This role is not about traditional art teaching. Instead, it involves weaving creativity into all aspects of learning, supporting inquiry-based projects, and helping children communicate their ideas through visual languages such as drawing, painting, sculpture, light, texture, construction, and digital media.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and lead engaging art experiences using a variety of rich and intelligent materials and mediums
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate creative processes into everyday learning
  • Create an inspiring atelier (studio) environment that invites curiosity and experimentation
  • Support children in expressing ideas through visual arts, design, and construction
  • Document and reflect on children’s learning journeys
  • Use photography and videography to capture and celebrate learning processes
About you
  • A background in visual arts, design, or creative practice
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • An understanding of, or interest in, the Reggio Emilia philosophy
  • A passion for fostering creativity and child-led learning
  • Proficiency in photography, videography, and related editing programmes
