We teach the Quran free to 500+ students across six continents, run by volunteers across time zones. The women’s side has a team keeping it running, while the men’s side does not. Therefore, we are looking for someone with operations experience to build the missing layer. By establishing robust operational processes you will ensure that classes start on time, new students move smoothly from sign‑up to their first lesson, and teachers feel organized and supported. Effective operations mean students stay engaged and volunteers remain committed.

There is a growth opportunity – the current manual operations can limit how many students we can support. Building reliable enrolment and scheduling systems will allow us to scale the next several hundred learners without overloading the volunteer team. The women’s side already demonstrates success with a dedicated team; the men’s side will benefit from the same. As we work toward becoming a registered charity and applying for funding, funders will expect an organization that operates on systems rather than goodwill. Our operations are central to building a sustainable organization. The teaching remains our mission. Operations enable that teaching to happen each week and make a real difference.

The Quran Group has outgrown its current way of working. In under two years it expanded from a few free classes to more than 500 students across six continents, guided by a volunteer team of scholars and huffaz. We need an operator who can bring consistency to the work that keeps us running. Specifically, you will own:

  • Keeping the class schedule straight across time zones.
  • Moving new students through enrolment, so nobody signs up and then hears nothing back.
  • Keeping our task and scheduling tools, ClickUp and spreadsheets, up to date.
  • Catching bottlenecks before they become unmanageable.

This role is not a teaching or people‑management position. You will not manage volunteers or lead a team, and no connection to Islam or Islamic education is required. The ideal candidate is someone who runs things well, regardless of sector.

Above all, we want operations experience. You have run the moving parts of an organization, a team, or a project for several years and know how to keep things organized when they get busy. You look for systems when problems arise rather than fixing them by hand each time. Consistency is essential. The work is small and regular – keeping the schedule current, moving new students through enrolment, and updating tools. It should never be dependent on someone remembering to do it.

You should be comfortable with a fast, informal, remote environment that spans time zones. You will build structures out of half‑built systems and thrive when things are missing. You should take quiet satisfaction in a cleanly running system. Most of the work is invisible when done right; the reward is that nothing breaks. If behind‑the‑scenes work appeals to you more than front‑facing roles, you’re the right fit.

We do not require a large time commitment; the hours are light, a few each day, not a long block once a week. A dependable, steady contribution is needed, plus a sense of pride in smoothly running operations.

The work is remote, flexible, and scheduled online. The team is global, so odd hours may be required. We have never charged a student and will never do so; all time you contribute directly supports keeping the classes free and running.
