We are seeking an exceptional Primary specialist to lead our newly established Strong Foundations provision at The Quest Academy. You will join a team of Lead Practitioners (English, Maths, Science and Humanities specialists). This is a unique and transformational role designed to address the four pillars identified in the Ofsted Inspection Framework: Reading, Writing, Oracy, and Early Numeracy.

Our students arrive at secondary school with varying levels of foundational skills, and many face barriers related to SEND and disadvantage. Reading ability remains the single most powerful predictor of academic success, and our commitment is to ensure that every student receives the expert, systematic support they need to thrive.

You may be an experienced KS2 Primary teacher with expertise in early reading development, phonics progression, and structured literacy approaches. You may have a specialism in Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SCLN), or a passion for developing students' oracy and communication skills. Whatever your current role, this position offers an exciting opportunity to shape literacy and numeracy provision at a critical transition point whilst working collaboratively within a dynamic secondary school environment.

In this role, you will champion inclusive education, coordinate targeted support for vulnerable learners, and position TQA as a leader in Strong Foundations provision at secondary level. You will design and deliver a bespoke curriculum, lead evidence-informed interventions, develop staff expertise in vocabulary instruction and linguistic foundations, and establish robust tracking systems that demonstrate impact.

With a strong focus on collaboration, evidence-based practice, and student-centred approaches, the Lead Practitioner Strong Foundations will build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure that every learner has access to the foundational skills they need to succeed.

I would be delighted to receive an application from you if, upon consideration, you feel that this role and The Quest Academy may be right for you. To apply, please complete the form at: TES website.
