Located in the heart of Leeds, The Queens Hotel is a place like no other. Marrying authentic art deco glamour with on-trend fittings and furnishings, this newly refurbished city-centre retreat offers style and comfort in equal measure. We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented, and service-driven Conference and Banqueting Supervisor to support the smooth running of events. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of conferences and banquets, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction.

We deliver outstanding events, from corporate meetings to grand banquets. As a Conference and Banqueting Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing event setups, guiding the team, and ensuring seamless service throughout every function. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising the setup and breakdown of conference and banquet events to ensure all details meet client expectations.
  • Leading and motivating the conference and banqueting team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Coordinating with the kitchen, bar, and operations teams to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients during events, handling any requests or last-minute changes.
  • Monitoring service standards, ensuring all team members adhere to hotel procedures and guest expectations.
  • Training and mentoring staff to enhance service skills and efficiency.
  • Managing stock levels of event supplies, including linen, tableware, and equipment.
  • Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are met within the event spaces.

The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details, and trusting. The core skills and experience required to succeed:

  • Previous experience in a conference, banqueting, or hospitality supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to oversee multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, event logistics, and health and safety regulations.
  • Flexible approach to work, with availability for evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
