An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse on the Acute Medical Unit. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to join our dynamic and fast‑paced environment on the AMU. We are a 39‑bedded AMU, over 6 bays, with an aim of length of stay of less than 24 hours.
Main duties of the job:
- Ensuring quality care is maintained on our Acute Medical Unit.
- In charge on a day to day basis, attending bed meetings, working with the flow coordinator and ensuring that staff and patients are well cared for.

Qualifications:
- Evidence of Post registration Educational Continuing development.
- Recognised NMC Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake, or in progress.
Experience:
- Evidence of innovation and achievements in clinical practice.
- Can demonstrate their experience of collaborative working.
- Can demonstrate the use of appropriate criteria to prioritise patient case load.
- Evidence of working as part of a multi‑disciplinary working experience.
- Demonstrates experience of clinical risk management.
- Community experience.
Skills:
- Ability to prioritise.
- Understands specific needs of patients complex cases.
