We currently operate a discretionary hybrid model, with three days in our London office and two days working from home.

This is a rare, high-impact opportunity to join a fast-paced, market-leading international sales team and drive the global reach of our award-winning publishing list. What you will be involved in:
- Drive Market Ownership: Lead commercial strategy, deliver revenue growth and spearhead new business development across assigned global export markets.
- Manage Agency & Partner Networks: Direct, motivate and support a high-performing network of external sales agencies, distributors and local retail partners.
- Execute Strategic Travel: Travel regularly to key territories to attend major international book fairs, conduct market visits and deepen client relationships on the ground.
- Support Key Global Accounts: Partner directly with major overseas publishing and distribution accounts to maximise list performance and operational alignment.
- Collaborate with the International Sales Director: Work directly alongside the International Sales Director to prepare executive presentations, lead internal strategy meetings and drive cross-departmental projects.
- Analyse Commercial Performance: Monitor sales metrics, track emerging market trends and deliver accurate forecasting to uncover new commercial opportunities and manage risk.
- Optimise Sales Tools & Processes: Refine presentation materials, pitch decks and internal workflows to empower global sales agents and elevate client pitches.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align closely with internal publishing, marketing and rights teams to ensure export market requirements feed directly into wider business planning.
About you
- Demonstrate Trade Publishing Expertise: Bring a proven track record in trade book sales, with deep familiarity with international export markets, territorial rights and global distribution models.
- Showcase Commercial Drive & Growth Record: Prove an ability to exceed revenue targets, identify emerging market opportunities and scale turnover across diverse overseas territories.
- Manage External Agencies & Key Accounts: Excel at directing, motivating and building trusted, highly productive relationships with external sales agents, international distributors and major retail partners.
- Embrace Global Travel & Cultural Adaptability: Relish frequent international travel, showing the stamina and diplomacy required to represent the list at major book fairs and on intensive territory visits.
- Combine Strategic Thinking with Operational Diligence: Pair high-level commercial acumen with a hands-on approach to refining sales tools, improving internal processes and managing complex day-to-day admin.
- Communicate & Influence Effectively: Express ideas persuasively, both externally when pitching to major international accounts and internally when working alongside the International Sales Director and publishing teams.
- Analyse Data & Forecast Accurately: Demonstrate strong numerical literacy, using sales data and market insights to track trends, manage forecasting and make sharp commercial decisions.
- Adapt Quickly in a Dynamic Team: Possess a proactive, highly adaptable work ethic, comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced environment and supporting wider leadership priorities.
