Join QAA
QAA is the UK's independent quality body for tertiary education. Our purpose is to ensure that students and learners experience the highest possible quality of education.
We are the UK's authority on quality and standards, acting as custodian on behalf of the sector of reference points including the UK Quality Code for Higher Education, Subject Benchmark Statements, and the Frameworks for Higher Education Qualifications.
We work with governments, funding bodies and education providers across the UK and internationally to support and enhance quality and standards. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, we work collaboratively with the sector to meet the needs of each nation. In England, our membership programme provides resources and support to strategic leads, quality specialists and students and learners alike.
Internationally, we are recognised as one of the world's leading quality bodies, supporting the reputation and reach of UK tertiary education through global partnerships and transnational education.
About the role
The Website Editor plays a central part in how QAA reaches the sector. Our websites are where providers, members and partners come to find our guidance, reference points, review reports and events, and their quality reflects directly on QAA's reputation. This role makes sure that experience is consistently accurate, accessible and well run, giving our work the best chance of being found and used.
It's an operational role with real strategic value. Every publication launch, campaign and renewal cycle depends on web content that is ready on time and performs well. As the point of accountability for publication standards across our websites, you'll use performance insight to show what's working and where we can improve, so decisions about our digital estate are grounded in evidence.
Much of your impact will come through working with others. You'll guide content authors across QAA through our governance process, giving feedback that raises the standard of what they submit and builds their confidence over time. You'll partner closely with campaigns, product marketing and sector engagement colleagues so web activity supports their priorities, and with IT colleagues to keep the site running smoothly.
You'll join the Marketing Operations team, reporting to the Marketing Operations Manager and working alongside design and events colleagues. We want someone who sets high standards for themselves and for our websites, and who brings an editor's perspective to how our digital estate develops, including any future redesign.
About you
You're an experienced web editor who has built and published content in an enterprise content management system. You understand how editorial quality, search optimisation and accessibility reinforce each other, and how getting them right makes content easier to find and use.
Precision comes naturally to you. You notice what others miss, hold content to a high standard before it goes live and stay steady when launches and renewals bring busy periods.
Data is part of how you work. You're confident reading performance analytics and turning them into clear recommendations that non-technical colleagues can act on.
Collaboration is one of your strengths. You give feedback that helps people improve, enjoy supporting others to publish well and build good relationships across an organisation and with external partners. You're always looking for ways to make the website work better.
Working at QAA
We are a UK based remote first agency built on trust and flexibility, where we focus on outcomes rather than location. This supports strong delivery, collaboration and colleague wellbeing.
While most work is carried out remotely, there are occasional opportunities to come together in person for collaboration, engagement or specific activities where this adds value.
Our commitment to inclusion
QAA is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and values the contribution that people from different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives bring.
We aim to create an environment where everyone feels respected, able to be themselves and supported to contribute and achieve their best. No matter what their identity or background.
We are committed to ensuring an accessible and fair recruitment process. If you require any reasonable adjustments to participate in any part of the recruitment process, please contact us at careers@qaa.ac.uk so we can support your needs.
