We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking General Manager to lead a standout lifestyle resort in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, just 15 minutes out of the city centre of Leeds. This isn’t your typical GM role—this is a chance to bring your wealth of experience to take Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort on the next stage of its journey. We are exceptionally proud of our journey so far bringing together local culture, a high performing team and exceptional guest experiences into something truly memorable. Continual investment in the property has taken the resort to a whole new experience level for our guests and employees. Due to our General Manager being offered the opportunity to advance his career overseas, we find ourselves in the rare position of advertising this role. This property is a key part of our portfolio having won Hotel of the year 2024 and our current General Manager having been awarded General Manager of the year 2023 and 2025 at our company wide awards.

What will I do?

You’ll be a strong leader who will have the ability to inspire and empower a talented team, drive commercial success, and bring innovative ideas to the table. You’ll have the autonomy to shape the hotel’s identity and elevate it to new heights, while ensuring that every guest leaves with an experience they will want to share with everyone.

Is this the role for me?

  • Passionate about continually driving commercial and financial performance, with a proven ability to deliver results, including generating a turnover in excess of £9 million
  • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, to lead the management team and support all departments in delivery of operational targets
  • Strong business acumen coupled with knowledge & understanding of all commercial and financial aspects of hotel operations
  • Responsible for delivering the hotel budget and sales strategy, developing new and creative opportunities to maximise sales and increase revenue
  • Previous experience operating a M&E, Golf, Leisure & Spa, or a multifaceted hotel with a minimum of 100 bedrooms
  • Create a culture focused on delivering the highest levels of customer scores and online reputation
  • Identify potential opportunities and challenges and devise strategies to deal effectively with both
  • Highly passionate & driven about hospitality

Our hotel is set in 300 acres of woodland with a 27-hole golf course, trackman driving range and dining options which include the Calverley Grill restaurant, the Claret Jug restaurant, and stunning Champagne bar. We also offer afternoon tea as well as private dining and meetings and event spaces. The leisure facilities include a gym, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and a relaxing Elemis treatment spa.
