Product & Marketing Director at The Puppet Company – Family Business proudly creating Fun for Everyone
The Puppet Company Ltd, a leading UK-based supplier of high-quality puppets and soft toys, is on the hunt for an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager to help drive our next stage of growth across the UK and Ireland. With over two decades in the industry and a strong reputation for creativity, innovation, and charm, we\’re entering an exciting period of transformation, investing in our brand, systems and infrastructure to future-proof the business and strengthen our global reach.
This is a pivotal role within the business, offering a unique opportunity to shape and deliver strategic sales plans while building relationships with key retailers and managing our national network of agents. You\’ll be inheriting established accounts and warm leads, but we’re looking for someone with the drive to grow these relationships, identify new opportunities, and help take our offering to the next level.
As part of the sales leadership team, you will take responsibility for the management and development of key and independent accounts, implement strategies to grow our presence with retailers we don’t yet work with, and work towards becoming a key point of contact for our external sales agents. You will be expected to deep-dive into customer insights and sales data to drive smart, profitable decisions, while also playing a leading role in promotional activity, competitor benchmarking, and analysing the performance of our website and e-commerce channels.
Is this right for you?
We’re looking for someone who is both commercially astute and people focused.
You should have experience managing sales accounts and ideally sales teams and be confident working with national and independent retailers alike. A strong level of emotional intelligence is essential, you’ll need to build trusted relationships, make quick decisions, and remain cool under pressure. You\’ll thrive in a business that values fresh thinking, new ideas and a passion for detail. A background in consumer goods, retail or toys would be a distinct advantage, and an understanding of e-commerce and multichannel sales is essential.
Why Join us?
In return, you’ll enjoy a generous commission structure, with all commission paid quarterly.
You’ll receive 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), the option to buy additional days, up to 5% pension contributions, Bupa assistance programme and a warm, team-focused culture that includes regular socials, “Fizz Fridays,” and the chance to travel to industry trade fairs and client meetings.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a high-impact position at a key moment in our journey. If you’re a motivated, engaging and experienced sales professional ready to be part of something special, we’d love to hear from you.
