The Psychology Consultancy UK Ltd is a growing independent clinical psychology practice delivering a wide range of assessment, treatment and consultancy services. Our clients range from individuals and their families to large public sector organisations where we provide trauma treatment and neurodiversity services. We have a small, but growing team of clinical psychologists and an associate. The successful candidate will join a welcoming team of professionals who are passionate about using psychology to promote resilience, inclusion, and mental well-being.
Job summary/key duties:
- You will be involved in organising and delivering clinical services such as psychometric assessment and evidence based psychological interventions under the clinical supervision of qualified psychologists.
- You will prepare clinical resources for use in psychology assessment and intervention, as well as our training courses, using a range of desktop and online applications.
- You will be involved in the day to day running of the service, in areas such as clinical administration, audit, and the preparation of service-related management information as well as in direct service delivery, assessments and report writing.
- You will have the opportunity to do project work or conduct in-service research, usually in partnership with our partners in the public or charitable sector.
- A key part of the role will be liaison with clients, partner organisations, and other members of the team including colleagues and associates.
- The role also involves contributing to our social media footprint, by, for example, writing for our online blog.
Essential requirements for the role:
- A degree qualification in psychology (2.1 or above) and the British Psychological Society's Graduate Basis for Registration.
- You will need to build excellent working relationships with colleagues, clients and other key stakeholders.
- You need to be able to build excellent rapport with both adults and children, and be able to communicate sensitive information to clients and professionals.
- Excellent ICT skills and be able to use the Office 365 suite of products at an advanced level.
- You need to be an independent worker and able to use your own initiative on a day to day basis.
- You need to have a degree-level knowledge of research design and data analysis.
What do we offer?
We offer a friendly and encouraging work environment (with good coffee and a great library!). We are a small company and as such you will be able to gain experience across the whole of our scope of work, from the way services are designed and developed, through to being a key member of the clinical team delivering clinical intervention. The post holder will be a key team member and vital to our continued success. Although the role is full-time (40 hrs p/w), we are very positive about flexible working arrangements and encourage team members to maintain a good work-life balance. The duties of the role will, however, require that you attend the office in person for the majority of your work hours. You will be offered training, regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development (CPD) as appropriate to the role.
The fine print:
- The post is full time, fixed term with a 24 month contract.
- We take for granted that psychology assistants are often interested in progressing to clinical training, and we are happy to work with you in the second year of your service to prepare you for moving into the next phase of your career.
- The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check and the successful candidate may be required to undergo additional vetting due to our work with partner organisations in the criminal justice system.
- The post is subject to a 3 month probation period.
- You will be required to provide proof of identity on interview.
