We are seeking a compassionate Dental Nurse to join our team. Newly qualified dental nurses are welcome. You will be providing high‑quality dental support services to patients in care homes across Manchester Area. This role involves assisting the dentist with portable dental equipment and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout treatment. You'll play an important role in bringing essential dental care to vulnerable and elderly patients who are unable to attend traditional dental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist in delivering dental care to residents in care homes
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment for portable use
- Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control standards
- Set up, sterilise, and pack down portable dental equipment at each location
- Support the dentist in recording clinical notes and treatment information
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety during all visits
- Manage stock levels of consumables and ensure all equipment is transported safely
- Liaise professionally with care home managers and staff to coordinate appointments
- Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, and data‑protection protocols
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to post‑visit reporting
- Pick up and drop off the portable dental kit in Bolton
- Flexible working pattern — choose full days or half‑days
- Morning half‑day: pick up the kit
- Afternoon half‑day: drop off the kit
- 1‑hour break flexible during full‑day shifts, agreed with the dentist
Requirements
- Experience in Dentally Preferable
- GDC registration
- CPD, immunisation, infection‑control training, enhanced DBS, indemnity
- Full UK driving licence + access to a car
- Able to work independently and adapt to different environments
