We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Locum Dental Nurse to join our team, providing high-quality dental support services to patients in care homes across Manchester. This role involves assisting the dentist with dental equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout treatment.
Youll play an important role in bringing essential dental care to vulnerable and elderly patients who are unable to attend traditional dental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist in delivering dental care to residents in care homes
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment for portable use.
- Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
- Set up, sterilise, and pack down portable dental equipment at each location.
- Support the dentist in recording clinical notes, patient details, and treatment information.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety during all visits.
- Manage stock levels of consumables and ensure all equipment is transported safely.
- Liaise professionally with care home managers and staff to coordinate appointments.
- Follow all safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to post-visit reporting.
Requirements
- Qualified Dental Nurse
- GDC registration
- Up-to-date CPR, infection control, and immunisation records.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude.
