We\’re looking for a friendly and reliable Night Porter to join our team at The Psalter Hotel, a stylish boutique hotel and restaurant in the heart of Sheffield.
This is a full-time position on a four-on, four-off rotation, working alongside our existing night porter to ensure the smooth running of the hotel overnight.
About the Role
As Night Porter, you\’ll be the friendly face of The Psalter after hours — ensuring our guests feel welcome, safe, and comfortable throughout their stay. Your duties will include:
- Providing a warm and professional welcome to late arrivals and early departures
- Maintaining hotel security and carrying out regular checks overnight
- Assisting with guest enquiries and requests
- Preparing for the following day\’s operations (e.g. daily clean down, deep cleans, restocking, etc.)
- Supporting the duty manager and liaising with other departments as needed
About You
We\’re looking for someone who is:
- Confident working independently and taking responsibility overnight
- Calm under pressure and able to handle unexpected situations professionally
- Friendly, approachable, and committed to excellent guest service
- Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
Previous experience in a similar role or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential — a great attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction are what matter most.
Hours & Pay
- 10:00 pm – 7:00 am, four nights on, four nights off
- £12.50 per hour plus service charge
