Security and Pastoral Officer
South Yorkshire FE College
37 hours per week - Temporary position for 3 months cover.
£14.24 per hour (including holiday pay)
Protocol are working with a client based in Doncaster who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Security and Pastoral Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a background in security who is passionate about supporting young people and helping to maintain a safe, secure and positive learning environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students, staff and visitors across the college campus, whilst also providing pastoral support where required.
- Maintain a visible security presence across the campus.
- Monitor and respond to incidents, safeguarding concerns and security breaches.
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Support students with pastoral and welfare-related issues where appropriate.
- Assist with managing student behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
- Conduct routine security patrols of buildings and grounds.
- Liaise with safeguarding teams, staff and external agencies as required.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records.
- Support emergency procedures and evacuation processes when necessary.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a security role.
- Experience working within an educational setting or with young and/or vulnerable people is highly desirable.
- Hold a valid SIA Licence.
- Hold a CCTV Operator Licence/qualification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Hold a DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
